Other common names: Red-flanked/Chinese White-eye
Taxonomy: Zosterops erythropleurus Swinhoe, 1863, northern China = Shanghai and Tientsin.
Presumably most closely related to either Z. palpebrosus or Z. japonicus. Monotypic.
Distribution: Breeds extreme SE Russia (E Amurland, Ussuriland) and NE China (Heilongjiang), possibly reaching extreme N Korea; non-breeding S China, Myanmar, Thailand, NW Vietnam, Laos and S Cambodia.
