Taxonomy: Horeites major F. Moore, 1854, Nepal.
Validity of race vafra has been questioned by a number of authors. Two subspecies normally recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- major (F. Moore, 1854) - Himalayas from N India (Kumaon) E to S China (SE Xizang, Sichuan, NW Yunnan).
- vafra (Koelz, 1954) - NE India (Assam).
