Taxonomy: Cyphos macrodactylus Spix, 1824, Fonte Boa, Brazil.
Usually placed in genus Bucco. Birds from R Caura region of S Venezuela often treated as race caurensis, but probably inseparable from other populations. Monotypic.
Distribution: S Venezuela, E Colombia and E Ecuador S to E Peru, upper Amazonian Brazil and N Bolivia.
