Taxonomy: Urile Campbelli Filhol, 1878, Campbell Island.
Often includes P. colensoi and P. ranfurlyi; these three sometimes considered conspecific with P. carunculatus complex (carunculatus, chalconotus and onslowi). Sometimes placed in Leucocarbo or Euleucocarbo. Monotypic.

Distribution: Restricted to Campbell I, to S of New Zealand.
