Taxonomy: Psittacus Caïca Latham, 1790, Cayenne.
May form a superspecies or parapatric species trio with P. barrabandi and P. vulturina. Monotypic.
Distribution: E Venezuela, the Guianas and N Brazil S to Amazon.
