Taxonomy: Ph[ylloscopus]. pulcher Blyth, 1845, Nepal.
Two subspecies recognized.

Subspecies and Distribution:

  • kangrae Ticehurst, 1923 - NW Himalayas (Kashmir E to Garhwal).
  • pulcher Blyth, 1845 - C & E Himalayas E from NW India (Himachal Pradesh), and NW, N & E Myanmar, S China (W Gansu and S Shaanxi S to SE Xizang and Yunnan), N Laos and NW Vietnam (W Tonkin); non-breeding also E & S Myanmar and NW Thailand.
