Spanish: Barbudo Pardo
Taxonomy: Mycropogon fuliginosus Temminck, 1830, Pontianak, west Borneo.
Relationships unclear, and species remains very poorly known. Race detersus possibly inseparable from hayii. Four subspecies currently recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- detersus Deignan, 1960 - S Myanmar (extreme S Tenasserim) and adjacent peninsular Thailand (S to Trang).
- hayii (J. E. Gray, 1831) - Malay Peninsula and Sumatra.
- tertius Chasen & Kloss, 1929 - N Borneo.
- fuliginosus (Temminck, 1830) - Borneo (except N).
