Taxonomy: Campephaga Boyeri G. R. Gray, 1846, Triton Bay, New Guinea.
Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- boyeri (G. R. Gray, 1846) - W Papuan Is (Salawati, Misool), and NW & N New Guinea E, including Yapen I, to Collingwood Bay.
- subalaris (Sharpe, 1878) - S & SE New Guinea (E to Milne Bay).
