Taxonomy: Siphia hoëvelli A. B. Meyer, 1903, Tokala Mountains, Sulawesi.
Placement in genus Niltava has been considered more appropriate for this species. Forms a superspecies with C. hyacinthinus and C. sanfordi. Monotypic.
Distribution: C & SE Sulawesi.
