Taxonomy: Phoenicura caeruleocephala Vigors, 1831, Himalayas.
Lack of red in male plumage implies most distinctive of redstarts and possibly worthy of separate generic status; more research needed. Species name is noun phrase and thus invariable. Monotypic.
Distribution: Tien Shan S to E Afghanistan and through W & C Himalayas.
