Taxonomy: Psittacula roseata Biswas, 1951, Gunjong, North Cachar, Assam.
Formerly considered conspecific with P. cyanocephala, and listed as P. c. rosa (Boddaert, 1783). Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- roseata Biswas, 1951 - W Bengal, Bhutan, N Assam, Bangladesh and N Myanmar.
- juneae Biswas, 1951 - S Assam and S Myanmar E through Thailand to Indochina; also possibly S China, with a 19th century record based on juveniles that might have been P. finschi.
