Taxonomy: Pomatorhinus erythrocnemis Gould, 1863, Taiwan.
Forms a species group, and has commonly been treated as conspecific, with P. erythrogenys, P. mcclellandi, P. gravivox and P. swinhoei, all having similar plumage. Monotypic.
Distribution: Taiwan.
