Taxonomy: Diomedea nigripes Audubon, 1849, Pacific Ocean, lat. 30° 44' N, long. 146° W.
Known to have hybridized with D. immutabilis. Monotypic.
Distribution: W Hawaii; small numbers in Izu, Bonin and S Ryukyu Is, to S of Japan.
