Taxonomy: Pipreola lubomirskii Taczanowski, 1879, Quebrada de Sance, 5800 feet [c. 1770 m], Tambillo, Peru.
Closely related to P. aureopectus, P. jucunda and P. pulchra, and all sometimes treated as conspecific, but plumages distinct, and no indication of intergradation. Monotypic.
Distribution: S Colombia (head of Magdalena Valley, and E slope of Andes) and E slope in Ecuador and Peru (S to N Cajamarca, including W slope in Zaña Valley).
