Taxonomy: Aithurus scitulus Brewster and Bangs, 1901, Priestman’s River, Portland Parish, Jamaica.
Genus closely related to Chlorostilbon. Forms a superspecies with T. polytmus, with which formerly considered conspecific, but differs in display and voice; occasional hybridization in W John Crow Mts. Monotypic.
Distribution: Extreme E Jamaica.
