Bulbuls (Pycnonotidae)
Baumann's Greenbul (Phyllastrephus baumanni) - HBW 10, p. 212
French: Bulbul de Baumann
German: Baumannbülbül
Spanish: Bulbul de Baumann
Other common names: Baumann’s Olive Greenbul
Taxonomy: Phyllostrephus [sic] baumanni Reichenow, 1895, Misahohé, Togo.
Has been thought possibly to form a superspecies with P. hypochloris, and sometimes considered conspecific, but morphological and vocal differences suggest that they are better treated as distinct species. Also, both sometimes considered to form a superspecies with P. poensis and P. lorenzi, but this seems implausible, and relationship with latter, at least, of these two does not seem close. Monotypic.
Distribution: NW Sierra Leone and SE Guinea E, apparently discontinuously, to SE Nigeria.
