Taxonomy: Crypturus bartletti P. L. Sclater & Salvin, 1873, Río Huallaga, Peru.
Very similar to C. brevirostris, of which it has been considered a subspecies, but apparently some overlap in E Peru. Monotypic.
Distribution: E Peru, N Bolivia, W Brazil.
