Taxonomy: Phylloscartes beckeri Gonzaga and Pacheco, 1995, Boa Nova, Bahia, Brazil.
Recently described species, apparently belonging to a superspecies that also contains P. ventralis, P. kronei, P. flavovirens and P. virescens; seems to be closest to first two of those. Monotypic.
Distribution: S Bahia, in E Brazil.
