Taxonomy: Rallus Antarcticus King, 1828, Straits of Magellan.
Sometimes regarded as conspecific with R. limicola or R. semiplumbeus, with both of which forms superspecies. Monotypic.
Distribution: C Chile and N Argentina patchily S to Tierra del Fuego.
