Taxonomy: Drymocataphus cinereiceps Tweeddale, 1878, Puerto Princesa, Palawan, W Philippines.
Has been placed in genus Trichastoma. Forms a superspecies with M. malaccensis; may perhaps be conspecific, but song very different. Monotypic.
Distribution: Palawan and Balabac, in W Philippine Is.
