Andean Solitaire (Myadestes ralloides) - HBW 10, p. 631

Spanish: Solitario Andino
Taxonomy: Muscipeta ralloides d’Orbigny, 1840, Chulumani, Yungas, east side of the Cordillera, Bolivia.
Vocally similar to M. melanops and M. coloratus, and all three sometimes considered conspecific, but plumage differences argue for treatment as separate species. Races plumbeiceps and venezuelensis doubtfully distinct. Four subspecies recognized.

- plumbeiceps Hellmayr, 1921 - W Colombia and W Ecuador.
- candelae Meyer de Schauensee, 1947 - NC Colombia.
- venezuelensis P. L. Sclater, 1856 - N & W Venezuela S in E Andes to N Peru (N of R Marañón).
- ralloides (d’Orbigny, 1840) - Peru (S of R Marañón) S to W & C Bolivia (S to Chuquisaca).
