This is one of Ecuador's most enigmatic species! Most of the year they are silent and secretive and because of that its hardly ever seen by birders. They are restricted to pristine Choco lowland forest, a habitat that is disappearing rapidly. I was very lucky to get a set of superb recordings of a stunning adult male.
