Sri Lanka Whistling Thrush. This small dark endemic thrush is a very-range restricted species of wet montane forest where it is exceedingly difficult to see. The most reliable site for this bird is along the edge of a small stream behind a fruit stall on the main road in to Nuwara Eliya from the south. It is shy, crepuscular and far from easy to photograph. The local name for this bird is the Arrenga.
