This individual was found in exactly the same GPS location as last years!! So were three others found subsequently, their site fidelity and range restricted distribution can not bid well for long term survival. The bird is looking quite ragged plumagewise, rains had not arrived and breeding had yet not started. It is mind boggling that the bird refuse to fly when followed, it rather cover ground on foot slinking through grass clumps and tussocks, a bit like a buttonquail. A contact or alarm call was also recorded every time Lesser Kestrels flew over us (the territory??).
