Locally uncommon, and highly threatened - population declining - only a few hundred specimens left. Breeds in small colonies in the desert of the Paracas National Reserve and can be observed along the beaches of the Bay of Paracas and Lagunillas (within the Reserve). Very small, with fast (snappy)wingbeats. Underparts of adults light gray, yellow beak with black tip: www.nature-expeditions-peru.com
