A beautiful and very special tern species. Even though some specimen are austral migrants to Ecuador and Colombia the Inca tern is a permanent resident in Peru and northern Chile and an endemic species of the Humboldt Current area. It’s grey color, the yellow face patch and the spectacular white tufts do make it different to all other tern species and of special interest to birders. The Inca tern can be observed in great numbers and close-up on Nature Expeditions’ coastal marine birding and dolphin watching trips: www.nature-expeditions-peru.com
