The Loon is best known for it's call. It is common on the inland lakes of Northern Wisconsin. A very interesting bird with an unusual curiosity. Easily approached and can be observed at close range. Breeds well and frequently produces two chicks. Eagles, Osprey and Pike are commonly prey on the young.
