Normally a forest dweller, this bird, formerly known as Cinnamon Dove, visited our birdbath for around a week before moving on.

This was only my second sighting in 34 years of this elusive forest dweller. I had previously located it just once before, deep in the Knysna Forest, when I heard it scuffling among leaf litter on the forest floor. Commonly placed in a separate genus, Aplopelia.
