Other common names: Grey-faced/Long-winged Petrel/Fulmar
Taxonomy: Procellaria macroptera A. Smith, 1840, Cape seas.
Has been considered conspecific with P. lessonii. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- macroptera (A. Smith, 1840) - subantarctic from Tristan da Cunha E to Kerguelen Is; SW Australia.
- gouldi (Hutton, 1869) - North I (New Zealand).
