Sort and Filter Families
We have been building some tools that we think are going to be very useful, especially for those contributors who enjoy posting new or endangered species.
Now, on each family page, you will see a "Sort and Filter" tab on the top of the species list. The sort feature allows you to order the species by English name, scientific name, status of the species, total amount of material and, of course, systematically (default). You can click twice on the sorting option to invert the order (i.e., from A to Z and then from Z to A).
You can use the filters to see just the species without any material (and also species without videos, photographs or sound recordings). If you are only interested in species with material, you can list just those with material, or more specifically with videos, photographs or sound recordings. When using a filter, a summary of what are you filtering is displayed, showing the number of species matching the criteria and it's percentage of the total species of that family.
As you can combine filter and sort options, interesting lists, like the most endangered species without material, can be easily generated.
