A recent thread on Surfbirds forum about a Pied Flycatcher in Flamborough, UK, produced a lot of discussions about its identity, being defended by some as the 1st Atlas Flycatcher Ficedula speculigera for the country. The debate later produced new insights on the identification of the Pied Flycatchers, especially concerning the posible differences in their calls. In this respect, the material available on the IBC of the Spanish subspecies of Pied Flycatcher, Ficedula hypoleuca iberiae, uploaded by JL Copete, has been of most importance in the analysis, as it's shown at the blog by Martin Garner.
