  • Africa, Europe and Asia, and one species in southern North America.
  • Open forest, waterside trees, reedbeds, desert with scattered vegetation, and montane forest.
  • 5 genera, 13 species, 45 taxa.
  • No species threatened; none extinct since 1600.
